Susan Whisenand, contemporary artist, is a retired school administrator who has returned to her life long loves of drawing, painting and exploration of various art media. Her favorite medium is watercolor. She loves how color, pen and ink, mixed media, textural materials and digital paint allow her to form impressions of portraits, figures, florals, animals and abstracts.
Susan takes classes through Santa Barbara City College’s Adult Education program. These programs have provided opportunities for her to study with professional artists, Rick Stich, Tom Henderson and Libby Smith. She also studies with Ruth Ellen Hoag, well known Santa Barbara watercolor artist.
Susan is a member of the Goleta Valley Art Association and the Abstract Art Collective where she exhibits work on a frequent basis.
